Back in August, Reliance Jio announced that the Jio Fiber commercial plans would come with subscriptions to various OTT apps, but there was no clarity regarding the same. We had no intel as to which all OTT services the various Jio Fiber plans will come with, and what would be the charges for the same. Finally, the company has opened up the information panel for its users. As it turns out, Jio Fiber will come with a free subscription for OTT services like Hostar VIP, SonyLIV, Voot, and more. Let's dive into the details of the subscription.

Jio Fiber to come with a free premium subscription to these OTT apps

Reliance Jio has now officially confirmed that the Jio Fiber users (users on at least Gold plan) will get access to four premium OTT apps subscriptions at no extra cost. The subscriptions will be provided to the users via the Jio 4K Set-Top Box that is also being made available across all the major cities in India. For now, the content being provided alongside the Jio Fiber appears to be thin. However, it is still a start, and, finally, the Jio Fiber service could be more relevant to the potential customers in the country. For all its worth, the company has also announced that more premium OTT apps are right around the corner, which will only make things better in times to come.

As said, the Reliance Jio customers can access Hotstar, SonyLIV, Voot, and JioCinema for now, as part of the Jio Fiber plan. ZEE5 and SunNXT are next in line, and the company has confirmed that the same is going to be made available to the customers in the coming days. Just to let you know, the users get a free subscription for the Hotstar VIP membership, which is worth Rs 365 a year and not the Hotstar Premium membership that costs Rs 999 for the same period.

Detailing the plans a bit more, Reliance Jio is currently offering a total of six plans for the Jio Fiber. The plans start at Rs 699 that comes just with JioCinema and JioSaavn subscriptions (that too for the first three times only), and you won't get the premium OTT subscriptions. The OTT subscriptions start the plans that cost more than Rs 849. With this plan, too, the users can avail of the OTT apps for the first three times only. The best plan, in our opinion, would be the Rs 1,249 JioFiber Gold plan.
